My information of Little Park street is all second hand - I joined in 69 at Queen Victoria Road but have been pleased to learn much about the earlier days of the Umbrella. Terry was key to holding it all together for so longer. So much talent went through the Umbrella. If either of you have anymore memories of those days, I'm happy to include them here. She lives a couple of hours away across the border in France and, so far, we managed to get our acts together to meet for lunch with her son in Lausanne. All being well, I'll join her again for a day around Christmas time, on the other side of Lac Léman.
My Brolly Club was exclusively in 97 Little Park St, just across the road from where my godfather lost his life as a fireman when the Registry Office was bombed.
At the beginning, there were only 2 or 3 of us Bablake Bugs in the sea of HenryVIII & City Archtects, but Neil Stair directed me in 'The White Devil' (I was Terry Watson's younger brother) before David Warner and I did 'Under Milk Wood' at the Talisman in Kenilworth and then left for RADA.
I only visited Little Park St a couple of times in the 60s, before moving to Hollywood-on-the-Tiber in 1968.Roger Worrodhttp://www.rogerworrod.comnoreply@blogger.com
